Power of women and power of sisterhood

WINDOW. SECOND WIND
DISCUSION IN A FORM OF A LONG TABLE

In September, the Kana Theatre will host a second meeting in a series of meetings of the project WINDOW. SECOND WIND dedicated to learning the tools of self-development, self-regulation, and group work and communication. The project is mainly dedicated to people working in culture or in an artistic field, but also to everyone who’s interested in starting a process of “change” in a context of reacting to needs, setting up boundaries, and listening to yourself in a work place and in life. The guests of WINDOW will be Magda Szewciów – certified WenDo coach, and antidiscrimination coach, and Iza Gawęcka – facilitator, tutor, author of social-theatre projects and WenDo coach.

WenDo (the path of women) is a workshop that teaches reacting to violence, assertive attitude, and consistent communication, and most importantly how to recognize your own strength. Power of women and power of sisterhood will pose as a theme for an open part of the meeting: Long Table – democratic, self-moderating discussion, where everyone can speak and be heard. How to take care of your power? Do beliefs influence our power? How can we implement sisterhood practices into an everyday life? That’s just some of the “stimulus questions” that may accompany us in the conversation.

Magda Szwciów – certified coach of self-defense and assertiveness for WenDo women and girls, antidiscrimination coach, certified  TRE® provider – methods of work with tensions and stress in the body, and psychotherapist (in training) in the current of Alexander Lowen’s Bioenergetic Analysis. She works with body and education in the field of diversity, gender equality, and violence prevention (especially as a gender discrimination).

Iza Gawęcka  - an expert in creating processes focused on development, and building relations among people, groups, and societies. She has many years of documented experience in working as a facilitator, tutor, manager, and a couch of soft skills development, and self-defense training WenDo. She’s an author of many theatre, and social projects, and she’s a member of NGO Trainers’ Association.
